On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the results of the television program “Le Monument préféré des Français 2025” (The French People’s Favorite Monument 2025), broadcast on France 3, were revealed. Among the many sites in competition, the Ramparts of Guérande proudly secured 3rd place in the national ranking. A wonderful recognition for this jewel of Breton heritage, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Listed as a Historic Monument since 1877, the Ramparts of Guérande are among the best-preserved fortified ensembles in France. Built between the 14th and 15th centuries, they stretch over nearly 1.4 km and still surround the medieval town today.
